CAST: Connecting Audience through Storytelling

C.A.S.T. (Connect Audiences Through Storytelling) is a workshop that teaches professionals how to harness emotions and narratives to effectively influence and engage others, rather than relying on flat, "robotic" communication. The training is built on two key concepts: Controlling Emotions (The 3 R's): Learning to Regulate your own emotions through self-awareness, Read the room to understand others' feelings, and Redirect those emotions into constructive outcomes. Second, leveraging storytelling: Using the 5 Steps of a Good Story (setting the scene, introducing an inciting incident, reaching a pivotal moment, resolving the issue, and creating a vision) to bring dull data to life and build deeper emotional connections with your audience. Ultimately, CAST equips you with the tools to tailor your message, inspire action, and communicate with genuine human impact.

When?
  • 29 Sep, Tuesday - 29 Sep, Tuesday
  • 02:00PM - 04:30PM
Upon completing this workshop, you will confidently be able to:

• Master Emotional Control: Participants will be able to apply the "3 R's" (Regulate, Read, and Redirect) to manage their own self-awareness, accurately interpret the room's non-verbal cues, and channel strong emotions into constructive communication.

• Construct Engaging Narratives: Participants will learn to utilize the "5 Steps of a Good Story"—setting the scene, introducing an inciting incident, reaching a pivotal moment, resolving the issue, and creating a vision—to bring dull data to life and effortlessly share knowledge.

• Apply the Science of Memorable Storytelling: Participants will learn to integrate perceptive, cognitive, and affective elements (such as sensory appeal, meaningful facts, and audience values) into their narratives to build deeper emotional connections and influence audience decisions.
